TECHNOLOGY
The sculptor models his original in a material and in a technique with which he has the best experience (often clay).
In order to obtain an identical wax model from the original, a negative mold is made of the model to be cast in a special rubber.
From the negative form you get the wax positive, which is an absolutely true-to-shape reproduction of the original.
The wax positive is now coated with so-called form mud (water, plaster of paris and chamotte) from sinside and outside.
The ceramic mantle will then be hard fired. At the same time the wax melts and the ceramic hardens to support the heavy liquid Bronze which is coming next.
Now the most important and the trickiest part is the Bronzcast; The 1200 degrees celsium hot liquid Bronze has to be pored in exact timing and very gently for not braking the ceramic mantle.
As it cools down, the bronze gets its own hardness, which then allows us to use special instruments to detach the hard-fired ceramic from the metal.
As soon as the bronze figure has been freed from its ceramic remains, it will be last revised and chased.
Ultimately, the overworked bronze figure receives the necessary professional treatment according to the artist's expression or according to the wishes of the customer.

Wax overlay
The cast bronze sculpture is being revised.
The Bamboo tubes will be burned afterwards with the wax , which allows the Bronze to fill up the whole statue, so that there will be no air bulbs remaining in the finished bronze figure.
